Once Upon A Time In The West Midlands – BRUMROCK 1966 – 1974 Box Set Review

Once Upon A Time In The West Midlands – The Bostin’ Sounds Of Brumrock 1966-1974, 3CD Box Set

Please watch the video above for the full review.

Some of you might have guessed from my accent that I may have originated from the midlands in the UK. I did indeed, my early teens were spent in drop forging factories in the black country listening to the real heavy metal sounds of steel stampers and heavy industry. Was it any wonder that we needed even louder music to hear above the sounds of the machines and heavy hammers.

When I saw this appear on the release schedule from Cherry Red I knew I had to have it. There are tracks by The Move, The Moody Blues, The Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, The Idle Race, Slade, The Electric Light Orchestra, Roy Wood and Wizzard, Judas Priest and more importantly lots of lesser-known bands that tell the real story of the music scene that has influenced the world.

The booklet is superb and very much like the book that came with the ‘Think I’m Going Weird Box Set’
