“I’ve been a big music fan, music collector and DJ for over 50 years. My tastes are extremely broad and eclectic, including anything from Motown to Motorhead to Mozart! When I first discovered Now Spinning Magazine, I found a place where my interests could be supported and expressed without prejudice. Now Spinning is far more than just a website and a Facebook group – it is a community of like-minded, passionate and welcoming music lovers and collectors. With Phil Aston at the helm, the magazine delivers a wide variety of news and information about both past classics and new releases, both individual albums and box sets. Phil often shares his own personal memories, related to particular artists and albums, as do other community members. These range from daily ‘Now Spinning’ posts, to unboxing videos, to regular themed articles about the music scene. Phil’s videos about the changing landscape of music formats are particularly interesting and are already starting to influence industry movers and shakers. This is such a refreshing development, as Phil is very honest, extremely objective, and his leadership, at last, gives us music fans a long-needed voice that is getting attention. Now Spinning hold regular zoom meets, which are the modern equivalent of meeting your mates and sharing new musical discoveries, plus there is a mutual regard and convivial atmosphere, amongst members, that is unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere in digital social spaces. As Phil often says, “Music is the healer and the doctor”, and Now Spinning members exemplify and epitomise this idea. I’m proud to be a member and I love interacting with the community.” Andy J Old

“Your style of presentation, your enthusiasm, it’s always a joy to watch, and your honesty, your views and opinions, are respected and appreciated. I love the diversity of Now Spinning Magazine, love how things have progressed here over the past couple of years. Along with the big names we come to expect, you often catch us by surprise and throw in something refreshingly different (Sarah McQuaid being a good example). And even when I think the content isn’t quite my cup of tea, I’ll still watch it and, more often then not, feel enlightened in some way. It’s always enjoyable to hear your personal stories, to hear how – and when – you first discovered certain albums or bands. How old you were, where you were living, what you were doing, memories of old friends, concerts, music papers, etc. This all adds something very special and uniquely individual to your videos. You are sharing your own musical journey or adventure with us, sharing the love and passion for records both new and old, and that makes this channel special. So keep doing what you’re doing. And always follow your heart”. Clive Snowden
