Doro Pesch Interview – Doro ‘The Metal Queen’ talks to Now Spinning Magazine Podcast
DORO, The Metal Queen, talks about her newest album, Conqueress – Forever Strong and Proud and looks back at her career as she celebrates 40 years in the music business.
As she celebrates her 40th anniversary in the industry, DORO joins The Now Spinning Magazine Podcast for this exclusive interview, reflecting on a career that has not just endured but thrived through the ever-changing tides of music history.
DORO’s ascent to metal stardom began with Warlock’s debut album, “Burning The Witches,” in 1983. Her powerful voice and magnetic stage presence quickly established her as a force to be reckoned with. A pivotal moment came in 1986 at the Monsters Of Rock festival, where DORO, the first woman to grace its stage, performed alongside legends like Scorpions and Ozzy Osbourne. This breakthrough set the stage for tours with heavyweights like Judas Priest, Dio, and Megadeth, and appearances on MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball.
DORO’s accolades are as impressive as her longevity. From the Lifetime Achievement Award to being voted Best Female Vocalist in Spain for 30 consecutive years, her contributions to metal are universally recognized. With over 3,000 concerts in more than 60 countries, DORO’s commitment to her fans is unparalleled.
A highlight of the album is DORO’s cover of Judas Priest’s ‘Living After Midnight,’ featuring Rob Halford. “Rob is one of my favourite singers and such a big inspiration. So it’s another dream come true,” DORO beams.
“As long as the fans want to see us and hear us, I will give my best and always give 110%,” she affirms. “I feel like I have so much more to give. I enjoy it so much. I still feel inspired, and I still feel like I’m 18 years old.”
