The Gun Club came out of the late 1970s and were seen as part of the LA Punk Scene. However, they were always so much more than that. Jeffrey Lee Pierce was heavily into the blues and Robert Johnston especially. The songs carried a raw essence of the blues entangled with the angst of the early 1980s. The guitar sound also seemed to have been dipped into the era that gave us The Doors.

This is a wonderful box set for fans of the Gun Club and for new fans who have just discovered them. A great package put together with total love for the artists and fanbase.

I hope this format is copied for other artists as it works really well.
