Wayne McAloon

Musician, music teacher and producer Wayne’s love of music began early when as a young child he would sneak into his older brother’s bedroom and just stare at the covers of many what are now considered Classic Albums, but the real spark was lit when he heard Iron Maiden’s The Number of The Beast for the first time aged 9. Something happened that day and he’s never been quite the same since! Wayne began playing guitar aged 9, joined his first band at 14 and quickly moved onto the drums at 15. Wayne has worked in and been involved with many areas of the music industry; musician, music teacher, music retail, producer, studio engineer, live sound engineer and luthier but his real passion is music education and teaching.Wayne graduated from the University of Sunderland with a BA in Music with a specialism in Musicology. For the last 23 years he has worked as a private music tutor, alongside working in schools and colleges, and since 2014 he has worked as a producer and mixing/mastering engineer in his small studio, Wildwood Studios, in rural North-East England. This has given him the opportunity to work with local artists and bands but also some noteworthy “rockstars” too and has helped to give him a good insight into not only how music is produced but also how the music business works.Wayne has been a record collector (mainly CD but some Vinyl) pretty much his whole life since he received his first 7” singles for Christmas in 1984. And yes, he still has them! Wayne is also co presenter on our monthly ‘Metal Monthly Podcast’.
