From Pandemic Struggles to Finding “Sea Glass”
Candice’s title track “Sea Glass” was born out of the global COVID-19 lockdown—an era that, for many, felt like a collective nightmare. Forced apart by social distancing, she looked to nature for solace. Living by the water, she and her children would wander the shoreline, gathering tiny shards of sea glass that shone with brilliant colors in the sun. It struck her that, much like those discarded fragments, people can feel shattered by life’s challenges—yet, with time and resilience, we find ways to let the light shine through again.

“As humans, we get tossed and tumbled. Experience breaks us down, yet we emerge changed, edges softened, and still full of light.” – Candice Night

Loss, Love, and Remembrance
Family is the emotional core of Sea Glass. In “Line Between,” Candice reflects on the heartbreak of losing her father. Noticing that a lifetime of memories is reduced to a dash on a headstone, she explores how grief changes us—and how we preserve the stories that truly define a loved one’s life.

“Line Between”: A heartfelt ballad about honouring those who’ve passed and carrying their memory forward.
“Nature Boy”: Recorded as a special gift for her father before he died, Candice decided to share it on Sea Glass as a further tribute. Its haunting, almost jazz-like arrangement underscores the personal significance behind every note.
Uplifting Through Hardship

Despite its undercurrent of sadness, Sea Glass remains a hopeful album—one that embraces transformation and emotional healing. Candice often describes the songs as pages taken straight from her journal. The album may at times feel melancholy, but with every story of heartbreak comes an acknowledgement of renewed strength.

“Promise Me”: Inspired by her children, this uplifting track conveys a mother’s unconditional support, reminding them to keep shining on their own paths.

“Another Day”: A comforting, piano-led piece that encourages listeners to take each day as it comes, even when the weight of grief or change feels overwhelming.

A Family Affair
Song after song, Sea Glass highlights Candice’s commitment to celebrating and protecting her loved ones. Whether she’s writing about the joys of motherhood, the moment her children’s voices joined hers on “Promise Me,” or paying homage to her parents, there’s a rawness to these tracks that brings listeners right into her story.

Richie Blackmore—Candice’s husband and legendary guitarist—also contributes gently layered guitar parts that evoke rolling ocean waves. Instead of flashy solos, his playing reflects the moody, introspective tone of Sea Glass, seamlessly weaving into Candice’s vision.

Sea Glass stands as a moving testament to life’s twisting paths—encompassing love, heartbreak, childhood wonder, and the healing power of nature. Whether you connect most strongly with “Line Between,” “Last Goodbye,” “Sea glass,” or one of the album’s other evocative songs, this record offers many touch points to explore your own experiences of loss, hope, and renewal.

Candice’s stories remind us that even in our darkest hours, a little light can transform broken fragments into unexpected treasures. Don’t miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in her deeply personal and healing new album.

Sea Glass is out on April 25th in multiple formats (vinyl, CD, and digital). If you’re looking for an album that seamlessly blends reflection, comfort, and optimism, make sure to give it a listen.
