David Lee Roth: The Warner Recordings 1985–1994 Announced

Rhino has just announced a brand-new box set celebrating David Lee Roth’s first five solo releases, all under one roof (Box Set) for the very first time!

On February 21, 2025, Rhino will unveil The Warner Recordings 1985–1994, a comprehensive collection that brings together Roth’s iconic run of solo releases. This set covers:

Crazy from the Heat (1985) – The EP that made it impossible to ignore Roth as a solo artist. With California Girls storming up the charts and his swinging medley of Just a Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody, this one set the tone for Diamond Dave’s larger-than-life persona.

Eat ’Em and Smile (1986) – A platinum smash featuring the all-star lineup of Billy Sheehan on bass, Gregg Bissonette on drums, and Steve Vai on guitar. Tracks like Yankee Rose and Tobacco Road show off Roth’s rock ’n’ roll swagger at its finest.

Skyscraper (1988) – Yet another platinum triumph, powered by the chart-hit Just Like Paradise. If Eat ’Em and Smile solidified Roth’s solo success, Skyscraper proved it was no fluke.

A Little Ain’t Enough (1991) – Kicking off the nineties with a gold record, Roth teamed up with guitar virtuoso Jason Becker for a heavier, high-voltage sound.

Your Filthy Little Mouth (1994) – Produced by the legendary Nile Rodgers, this album added a dash of experimentation to Roth’s repertoire. Tracks like She’s My Machine are steeped in that signature Diamond Dave flair.
Why Now?

Forty years ago, on January 28, 1985, Roth made his solo debut with Crazy from the Heat—and it changed everything. It wasn’t just a stepping stone away from Van Halen; it was a statement that Roth had his own thing going on. Now, with this anniversary looming large, Rhino is giving us a chance to experience (or re-experience) the entire era, remastered and wrapped up in style.

Multiple Formats
5-CD Box Set – Because you know I’m a huge fan of physical media. This is perfect for anyone who wants that tangible, collectible experience.

Digital – For those on the move or who want instant access across devices.
