Lindsey Buckingham’s “20th Century Lindsey” Box Set
This features Buckingham’s first three solo albums with added bonus tracks.
“20th Century Lindsey” will be available on June 14 as a 4-LP vinyl set and digitally, with a 4-CD version following in August 2024. The set includes:
Law and Order (1981)
Go Insane (1984)
Out of the Cradle (1992)
20th Century Rarities (Bonus tracks compilation)
All three studio albums have been remastered in 2017 from the original master tapes. The “20th Century Rarities” LP includes eight bonus tracks,
Law and Order (1981): Lindsey Buckingham’s debut solo album showcases his unique songwriting and production skills, with Buckingham playing nearly all instruments himself. Highlights include the Top 10 hit “Trouble,” featuring Mick Fleetwood on drums, as well as “Mary Lee Jones” and “It Was I.”
Go Insane (1984): With tracks like “Go Insane” and “Slow Dancing,” this album reflects Buckingham’s experimental side. The title track hit No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “I Want You” stands out for its layered harmonies and inventive production.
Out of the Cradle (1992): Buckingham’s third solo album, regarded as one of his best, includes tracks like “Countdown,” “Soul Drifter,” and “Wrong.” The album achieved critical acclaim for its intricate guitar work and innovative production.
20th Century Rarities: This 8-song compilation is a gem for collectors, featuring hard-to-find mixes and soundtrack contributions, such as:
“Time Bomb Town” (Back to the Future, 1985)
“Twisted” (Duet with Stevie Nicks, Twister, 1996)
“Slow Dancing” (Extended Version)
One of the standout tracks, “Slow Dancing (Extended Version)”, makes its digital debut nearly 40 years after its initial release as a 12″ single in Europe. This extended version showcases Buckingham’s mastery of layered production and catchy melodies.
