Luther Grosvenor: Under Open Skies, Remastered & Expanded CD Edition – Review

Please watch the video above for the full review

Following the demise of Spooky Tooth in 1970, Luther Grosvenor (Ariel Bender) remained signed to Island Records and at the suggestion of label head Chris Blackwell, he recorded this unique album in 1971.
The sessions featured a host of guest musicians such as Jim Capaldi (Traffic), Trevor Burton (The Move), Mike Kellie (Spooky Tooth) and Trevor Lucas (Eclection, Fotheringay).

‘Under Open Skies’ was a charming album which captured the spirit of the time in which it was recorded. This Esoteric Recordings edition has been remastered from the Island master tapes and features two rare bonus tracks drawn from singles issued in 1971 and 1972. The set also includes an illustrated booklet and essay featuring an exclusive interview with Luther Grosvenor.
