One of the standout features of this release is its innovative packaging. It comes in a 7-inch single style, which I absolutely love. While some might find it difficult to fit on their shelves, I think it’s a fantastic and creative way to present a CD. This style is particularly popular in Japan, and it’s great to see it being used here.
This deluxe edition is designed as a gatefold 7-inch, with CDs housed in pockets at each end. In between, there’s a beautifully crafted booklet with all the lyrics, making it easier to read, especially for those who are visually challenged. The booklet is well-made and won’t fall apart easily.
The back of the package lists all the details and tracks. The CDs themselves are designed with the single artwork from the era, adding a nostalgic touch to the whole experience.
This album marked a shift in Marc Bolan’s musical style, moving towards a more soulful and gospel-inspired sound. With contributions from Gloria Jones, the album features unique lyrical and guitar flows that only Marc Bolan could pull off.
For those wondering about the singles, The Groover and Truck On (Tyke) are included in this set. These tracks showcase Bolan’s experimentation and evolution in his music during this period.
If you’re a Marc Bolan fan, this deluxe edition is a must-have. The packaging alone is worth it, but the music inside is where the real treasure lies.
