The front of the album declares this to be a Magnificent Symphonic PROG from Sweden.
That is about right!
I can hear elements of YES, Gentle Giant, Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree, Frank Zappa, Jazz fusion & Jethro Tull. This is not to say that the band do not have an originally themselves they do. This is complex and challenging music that is at once exciting and keeps you guessing what is going to happen next.
This is also for fans of Goblin, King Crimson, Anglagard and Ennio Morricone. The vocals from Miranda Brand are evocative and beautiful. The songs are all epics with the title track coming in at 18 minutes, three of the other songs also touch 16, 13, and 13 minutes each.
This could have been one of my albums of the year, but it actually came out in 2018!
Give it a listen and let me know what you think!
