Dream Theater A View from the Top of the World – Review

Studio Album, released in 2021Songs / Tracks Listing

Dream Theater – A View From The Top of The World
2LP Vinyl / Booklet and CD Edition

The music includes all the Dream Theater trademarks but also seems to have a more melodic edge and the production/mix by Andy Sneap seems less crowded.
One of my favourite tracks is Sleeping Giant. This starts with a fairly spooky keyboard then moves into a solo guitar riff with some glorious Hammond style organ behind it
This reminds me of the early Steve Morse period Deep Purple.
It soon heads off into a great Dream Theater gallop with some hard riffage.

Although you might get a feeling that the band can write this stuff in their sleep, they do not sound like that.
This is vibrant, vital and exciting rock music that can literally put you on the edge of your seat.

1. The Alien (9:32)

6. Awaken the Master (9:47)
