Envy Of None—the Canadian/American band that took us all by surprise with their self-titled debut in 2022—have just announced their second album, Stygian Wavz, coming out on Kscope on 14th March 2025.
The band have already been teasing us with two singles, “Not Dead Yet” and “Under The Stars,” both of which will be featured on the new record. But the real treat right now is their brand-new single and title track, “Stygian Waves,” along with a visually striking music video directed by Mariano Biotico.
“Stygian Waves”: A Glimpse into the New Album
According to Andy Curran (songwriter/bassist for Envy Of None), “This track is a favourite of all 4 EONs. Despite the fact of the spartan lyrical content, this song features Maiah on lead vocals. Her harmonies and layers of vocals are literally symphonic! It’s hard to put a finger on what style or genre this one is … and we’re proud of that!”
Maiah Wynne’s emotive vocals really shine on this track, and if you caught the previous two singles, you’ll know just how exciting this band can be when it comes to bending genres and defying expectations.
Watch the new video above for “Stygian Waves” and see for yourself how the animation and the music blend together in a way that feels both modern and otherworldly.
A Supergroup in Disguise
Envy Of None may not call themselves a supergroup, but let’s face it—any outfit featuring Alex Lifeson (the legendary guitarist from Rush), Andy Curran (Coney Hatch, Soho 69), and Alfio Annibalini (producer extraordinaire) on keyboards is destined to turn heads. Throw in the incredibly versatile Maiah Wynne on vocals, and you’ve got a collective that’s rewriting the rulebook on what modern rock music can be.
Their debut proved they were more than just the sum of their parts, showcasing a contemporary alt-rock style that’s both unpredictable and impossible to pigeonhole. Now, with Stygian Wavz, they’re stepping even further into their own musical identity—creating a heady, genre-splicing experience that promises to thrill you at every turn.
