This is an essential album for me, certainly a desert island disc and it might just be my favourite of them all.
My collection features various items, the most unusual being the PC game.
Promised Land is a seamless work of art. It sees the band go dark and introspective following Empire’s prog-tinged AOR triumph, returning to the concept album format while evolving their sound yet again.
The record explores a variety of styles, there are no duff tracks, and it’s hard to pick a standout.
The fact that it became the band’s highest charting album and one that pushed a million copies in the US during the height of grunge is testament to its quality.
