I’m beyond excited to share some incredible news about one of my all-time favorite bands, Riverside. Poland’s progressive rock pioneers are set to release their definitive live album, Live ID, on January 24th, 2025 via InsideOutMusic. If you’re a fan of emotionally charged, expertly crafted prog rock like I am, this is one you absolutely cannot miss.

Recorded during their June 1st, 2024 performance at COS Torwar in Warsaw, Live ID captures Riverside at their absolute peak. With over 110 minutes of breathtaking live renditions of 12 songs, this album closes the chapter on their highly acclaimed 2023 studio release, ID.Entity.

Mariusz Duda, the band’s vocalist, bassist, and chief songwriter, shares an intriguing perspective on the album:

“I would argue that Riverside always come across better in concerts than on studio albums. In fact, it’s only during live performances that our songs gain their full potential. Some song arrangements are much better in live versions than in studio recordings… That’s why ‘Live ID’ is not just an ordinary live album. It’s an album that reveals the band’s true identity.”

These words hit home for me because Riverside’s music has always felt alive, deeply immersive, and incredibly moving. Their live performances elevate their songs to new heights, and this album promises to be no exception.
